BODYGUARD fans got the shock of their lives during Comic Relief.

Bodyguard fans were shocked to see Julia Montague back from the dead on Friday night’s Comic Relief.

BBC viewers were left in a state of shock when Julia was killed off in the fourth episode of the beloved series last year.

Ever since there’s been speculation that she may have faked her own death, and those suggestions were confirmed on Friday night.

Keeley was left equally confused by her role on Bodyguard during a sketch on Comic Relief, where she returned from the ‘dead’ and appeared to confirm season two is in the works.

Fans rushed to social media to question the scenes, with one saying: “Did she really just ask if she is really dead? Does that mean we’re getting another series?”

A second confused viewer asked: “Wait, is she alive?”

“Oh my god does that mean she is back?” said a third excited fan.

While a fourth added: “I cannot believe Julia is back - does this mean we’re finally going to get a second series?”

Earlier this week, creator Jed Mercurio opened up about the delay in announcing a second series of the smash hit drama.

"It would be great if there was a second season," he said at the INTV conference in Israel.

"We'd love to do more. We appreciate there's a real hunger from fans to watch it.

“There are a lot of logistics in terms of setting up a second season and we're just working through those.”

He added: ”Nothing's confirmed yet. We're just in talks."
