Faye Lucas, 19, from Guildford, put off going to the doctors  for more than 12 months as she put her difficulty bending her leg down to a strain. Doctors discovered she had a form of osteosarcoma.

BACKGROUND The long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) small nucleolar RNA host gene 1 (SNHG1) is expressed in solid malignant tumors. The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to determine whether expression of the lncRNA SNHG1 was associated with prognosis in patients with malignancy. MATERIAL AND METHODS A literature review from Jan 1970 to July 2018 identified publications in the English language. Databases searched included: PubMed, OVID, Web of Science, the Cochrane Database, Embase, EBSCO, Google Scholar. Systematic review and meta-analysis were per…

The work reports the facile synthesis of novel α-aminophosphonate derivatives coupled with indole-2,3-dione moieties, namely the diethyl(substituted phenyl/heteroaryl)(2-(2-oxoindolin-3-ylidene)hydrazinyl)methylphosphonates derivatives 4(a–n). One-pot three component Kabachnik-Fields reactions were used to synthesize these derivatives. The reaction was carried out at room temperature by stirring in presence of ceric ammonium nitrate (CAN) as a green catalyst. The structures of the synthesized compounds were established by spectral studies. The synthesized derivatives 4(a–n) w…

DiscussionThis was partly due to the fact that MSCs showed a potential to support tumor development. Moreover, the expression of mbTRAIL did not show caspase activation in adjacent tumor cells.

MicroRNAs (miRs) serve an essential role in tumorigenesis and are able to act as tumor suppressor genes or oncogenes. miR‑106a has been identified generally as an oncogene in multiple types of human cancer; however, its association with osteosarcoma has not previously been understood. Reverse transcription‑quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT‑qPCR) was used to detect miR‑106a expression in 18 …

ConclusionWe have demonstrated a liquid biopsy-based approach for tracking cancer transcriptomic alterations, which is a promising source of prognostic and therapeutic biomarkers for metastatic OS.Clinical Trial RegistrationNCT03108677.

CONCLUSION: Health care delay among patients with a previous diagnosis was longer, and was probably associated with the time taken for to referral to cancer centers. Patients without a previous histopathological diagnosis had longer hospital delays, which could be associated with possible difficulties regarding demand and high-cost procedures. Despite limitations, this study helps provide initial knowledge about the healthcare pathway delays for patients with bone cancer inside several Brazilian hospitals.
