Invasive mucinous adenocarcinoma (IMA) of the lung, which occurs in 2 to 10% of lung adenocarcinomas, is associated with an unfavorable clinical course and presents as multifocal unresectable disease with no effective treatments. Neuregulin 1 (NRG1) fusion genes have recently been identified as novel driver oncogenes in 8% to 27% of IMAs [1]. NRG1 fusion genes lead to transmembrane-bound NRG1 fusion proteins, such as SLC3A2-NRG1, that serve as ligands for HER2-HER3 heterodimers and lead to activation of the PI3K-Akt-mTOR signaling pathway [1,2].

ConclusionThe AGAMENON registry suggests that subjects with limited metastatic disease, selected on a clinical basis, can benefit from early surgeries. Prospective trials are needed to confirm these data.

The International Endocervical Adenocarcinoma Criteria and Classification was developed to separate endocervical adenocarcinomas (ECAs) into 2 main categories on the basis of morphology such as human papilloma virus–associated (HPVA) and non-human papilloma virus–associated adenocarcinomas. We aimed to improve the diagnostic accuracy of International Endocervical Adenocarcinoma Criteria and Classification by performing a comprehensive immunohistochemical evaluation and constructing objective immunohistochemical-based algorithms for the classification of these tumors. Tissue microarrays were constructed from 297…

Gastro-esophageal adenocarcinomas (GEA) represent a severe global health burden and despite improvements in the multimodality treatment of these malignancies the prognosis of patients remains poor. HER2 overex…

Conclusion Ado-trastuzumab emtansine is an active agent in patients with HER2-mutant lung cancers. This is the first positive trial in this molecular subset of lung cancers. Further use and study of this agent are warranted.

The objectives of this study were to identify the clinicopathological characteristics of GAS and to evaluate HER2 expression in GAS. We retrospectively reviewed 322 cervical cancer cases diagnosed at the Kyoto University Hospital from 2010 to 2016. The incidence, clinical factors including age, stage, and lymph node status, tumor markers, immunoreactive expression of MUC6, HIK1083, and HER2, andHER2 amplification were evaluated. Of the 322 cases of cervical cancer, 13 cases of the adenocarcinoma cases were diagnosed as GAS. Watery discharge, lower abdominal pain, CA19-9 elevation, and lymph node metastasis were frequently …

Abstract
The aim of the present study was to investigate the association between serum carbohydrate antigen (CA)19-9 and CA125 levels, and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) expression in patients with gastric cancer, as well as to identify any correlation between them and the risk of recurrence and metastasis. A total of 256 patients were enrolled in the present study, and 219 patients were followed-up to investigate recurrence and metastasis of gastric cancer. Immunohistochemistry was used to detect HER-2 in gastric adenocarcinoma and paracancerous tissues….
