Conclusion: The tumor control following repeat SRS for locally recurring metastatic brain tumors after a previous SRS is relatively lower than that for primary SRS. However, both low tumor volume and high prescription radiation dose were significantly related to the tumor control following repeat SRS for these tumors after previous SRS, which is a general understanding of primary SRS for metastatic brain tumors.

Sustainable weight loss. Protection from diabetes, heart disease and cancer. Improved brain health. Enhanced physical fitness and strength. It seems like every week, researchers turn up some new and profound benefit associated with intermittent fasting: eating schedules that incorporate regular periods of low or no food consumption.
By eating normally for several days a week and eating much less on the others, a person may be able to shift her body’s cellular and metabolic processes in ways that promote optimal health. And experts who study intermittent fasting say that while many blanks still need to be filled in, s…

It ’s difficult to open a newspaper nowadays without seeing an article about artificial intelligence. These column-inches spark our imaginations with heady visions of possible futures and crease our brows with concern in equal measure. MiR‑500a‑5p promotes glioblastoma cell proliferation, migration and invasion by targeting chromodomain helicase DNA binding protein 5.
Mol Med Rep. 2018 Jul 09;:
Authors: Liu Z, Su D, Qi X, Ma J
Abstract
Glioblastoma is one of the most common malignant primary tumors and develops in brain. The molecular mechanism that regulates glioblastoma occurrence still remains unknown. MicroRNA (miR)‑500a‑5p has been reported to be involved in hepatocellular carcinoma and breast cancer. Whether miR‑500a‑5p regulates glioblastoma progression requires further investigation. In the present study, miR‑50…

This study evaluated and compared the effects of DOX exposure from different formulations (free DOX, MMDOX and Doxil®) on the swimming activity, morphological alterations, cardiac rhythm, lethality rate and DOX biodistribution. MMDOX showed lower lethal effects, morphological alterations and neurotoxic effects than the free drug. This study shows the potential of the MMDOX to be an effective DOX-delivery system because it could reduce the side effects.

We presently forget 98% of everything we experience. That will go away in favor of perfect, controllable, configurable memory. Skills and knowledge will become commodities that can be purchased and installed. We will be able to feel exactly as we wish to feel at any given time. How we perceive the world will be mutable and subject to choice. How we think, the very fundamental basis of the mind, will also be mutable and subject to choice. We will merge with our machines, as Kurzweil puts it. The boundary between mind and computing device, between the individual and his or her tools, will blur.

Over the course of the …
