We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of observational studies to investigate the effect of pioglitazone on risk of BC in T2DM patients.MethodsWe searched all publications regarding risk …

ConclusionThe relative inaccessibility of the small bowel and the malignant neoplasms’ non-specific symptoms make an early diagnosis difficult. Discovery of the disease, often only at an advanced stage, results in complications and less effective therapy. The laparoscopic approach might be advantageous and effective in the treatment of advanced small bowel cancer with invasion of adjacent structures.ResumoIntroduçãoAs neoplasias do intestino delgado são entidades raras com apenas 3,2% dos tumores gastrointestinais localizando-se neste segmento. O adenocarcinoma é o segundo tipo histol&oacu…

ConclusionsFactors resulting in an increased risk of urinary retention are advancing age (>  68.7 years); a larger prostate volume (>  75 cc); greater number of biopsies (>  35); greater severity of lower urinary tract symptoms prior to biopsy and diabetes. Targeted biopsies alone, instead of a full template, may avoid urinary retention in the high-risk groups identified.

Conclusion:
The present meta-analysis indicated that metformin intake could improve the prognosis of bladder cancer patients. Further prospective cohort studies and mechanistic studies are still required to determine the precise role of metformin in the initiation and progression of bladder cancer.
